In 2022, I embarked on a thrilling journey into web development through the ALX Software Engineering program. It was my first dive into coding, and boy, was it exhilarating! Admittedly, it was also one of the toughest challenges I faced that year. But what's truly remarkable about my tech journey is the constant flow of new discoveries that keeps me energized. ALX was a whirlwind of learning, but collaborating with my team to create two projects was a defining moment for me. Feeling my heart race with each project was all the confirmation I needed to pursue this passion further. The excitement of building and honing my skills propels me forward, eager to embrace every opportunity to grow and innovate.
During the program, I had moments of doubt where I felt lost and unsure. There were days when I questioned my abilities and struggled to find motivation. But through it all, I've realized that the best way to learn programming is by diving into projects headfirst. Here are a few skills I've picked up along the way:
While I adore caring for my family, self-care is vital. I'm passionate about constant learning, even amidst the chaos of parenting. It's no easy feat balancing childcare and education. Yet, seeing my kids' interest in coding sparks joy; it's become a superpower in our home. My eldest daughter is now diving into coding with Scratch—an exciting journey we share.
After completing ALX, my thirst for knowledge persisted, especially in front-end development. When HerTechTrail offered the chance to delve deeper, I seized it without hesitation. The experience has been incredibly fulfilling
HerTechTrail has supercharged my tech journey, offering top-notch coaching and recorded classes for seamless learning. Plus, challenging coding tasks and capstone projects ensure we grasp every concept thoroughly. The program was shorter than ALX, giving me a refreshing experience. It inspired me to enroll in the advanced front-end development program. My passion for technology drove me to work on a paid job and two portfolio projects independently, expanding my skills. I'm grateful for these opportunities.
